Hair Bangs Hairstyles 2012 - Different Types

She Bangs !! ( not the Ricky Martin song)

Whether you want to disguise a large forehead or you want to hide those lines on it, bangs are a great way to freshen up your look. Apart from USA, where they are called bangs, the rest of the known world pretty much calls them a "fringe".

While it is usually left at the level of the forehead or swiping the eyes, a longer bang that hits the face at the ear level is also popular. A lot of girls I know in their moment of experiment have taken a scissors to the hair intending to cut some sort of a bang.
MEDIUM LENGTH HAIR WITH BANGS
There are many type of bangs, and what you get depends mostly on the shape of your face and the texture of your hair. For example - if your face is round, you can get nicely texturized bangs that will help to create more of a jawline. No matter what kind of hair you have - long, short or medium, curly or straight, colored or processed hair- you can get bangs!

Bangs help to frame the face quite like a frame for a picture - in essence making it look presentable. Furthermore, when cut correctly, they can help to enhance certain features on your face like your eyes. Another amazing feature of bangs is that they make you look younger ! We Love !
Oh Bangs!! There are so many different types. If you are lucky and have a very creative stylist, he or she will know exactly what to do for you. Generally speaking there are a few broad categories of bangs that I will attempt to classify. Rather than talk about face shapes and what is best for you, intead I will get into the types of bangs there are and what they called.

STRAIGHT Hair BANGS
STRAIGHT BANGS - They are usually pretty long and go past the eyebrows and really help to hone in on the eyes. This cut is great for face framing, and looks freat with long or short hair.

LONG HAIR WITH SIDE BANGS
SIDESWEPT BANGS- These can be cut on long or short hair. They can be heavy or light and can cover the whole forehead or just partially cover it. This style is very popular and looks very nice with a variety of other styles.

PARTED BANGS - Kim Kardashian
PARTED BANGS- These are bangs that are seperated into two pieces- usually down the middle. But it doesn't have to be. The part could be on the side two. This look is very nice for everyday wear, however if the rest of the head is done nicely parted bangs create an elegant look.

ASSYMETRICAL BANGS - In this hair style, the bangs are not of uniform length. They are longer at one end, and shorter on the other. This is a very edgy and modern look that very few people feel safe carrying.
ASSYMETRICAL BANGS - Short Hair style
Rihana - Wispy bangs with short hair
WISPY BANGS - Wispy bangs contain less hair so the apperance is not a thick band of hair across the forehead, but a ligher lock of hair.
Angeline jolie - medium hair with long wispy bangs
shoulder length brown hair with curved heavy bangs
CURVED BANGS - Curved bangs as the name suggests is a type of cut in which the bangs although heavy are curved inwards to give it dimension. This cut is another one that heavily frames the face.
Selena Gomez- medium length brown hair with curved bangs
Short hair with pixie bangs
PIXIE BANGS- Pixie bangs are very short, uneven and assymetrical. They are modern and very difficult to pull of especially if you have a very round or heavy set face.

PINUP GIRL BANGS - This style of bangs became popular with Betty Page who was a famous pin up girl from the 1950s. These bangs are medium length, and their unique feature is that they are rolled or curved inwards. Katy Perry recently sported this hairdo.
