Maxi Skirts, Maxi Dresses for Summer, Maternity, Plus Size & Party

A maxi skirt is any skirt that is long- and by long we mean like to the ankle level. A lot of women wish to wear a maxi skirt, but they may not know how to coordinate it with a proper top. This is a valid apprehension.

Styling a maxi skirt can be a bit tricky because usually the shape of a maxi skirt is loose and flowy. While this is great if you wish to hide any extra flab on your mid section or thighs, it does pose a problem regarding what to wear on top. Here are some great ideas on how to wear a maxi skirt.

You can use these as inspirations for your own ensembles.

Ombre Color Fashion Trends, Dresses

Ombre in fashion means a type of coloring style in which there is a gradient from light to dark. It could be one color, multiple colors from the same color family, or different colors all together. Basically, its playing with color saturation to get a very cool, chic, and interesting effect. Its also called tie and dye, as many people believe its a glam version of that trend.

Ombre is a hot trend for summer and fall 2012. If you are one to easily embrace fashion trends, then you can go for a nice bright pair of ombre pants, or an ombre dress. Or if you like to play it safe you can go for an ombre top in a demure shade. Or perhaps you want to try an ombre scarf even. Have fun and experiment !

Hair Bangs Hairstyles 2012 - Different Types

She Bangs !! ( not the Ricky Martin song)

Whether you want to disguise a large forehead or you want to hide those lines on it, bangs are a great way to freshen up your look. Apart from USA, where they are called bangs, the rest of the known world pretty much calls them a "fringe".

While it is usually left at the level of the forehead or swiping the eyes, a longer bang that hits the face at the ear level is also popular. A lot of girls I know in their moment of experiment have taken a scissors to the hair intending to cut some sort of a bang.
MEDIUM LENGTH HAIR WITH BANGS
There are many type of bangs, and what you get depends mostly on the shape of your face and the texture of your hair. For example - if your face is round, you can get nicely texturized bangs that will help to create more of a jawline. No matter what kind of hair you have - long, short or medium, curly or straight, colored or processed hair- you can get bangs!

Names of Womens Hairstyles - Bob Cuts and Braids

I think it happens to a lot of us. You see a hairstyle on someone that you really like. However when you go to our stylest, you don't know how to explain it. This is primarily because you don't know what its called. Here is my attempt at trying to provide a sort of picture and name classification of various types of hairstyles. As I started researching, I realized that there is no way that I can possibly put all the different categories in one post. In this first one, I talk about braids and bob cuts. I hope this helps to broaden your understanding so that the next time you go to a hairstylest you can explain exactly what you want.
BOB CUT - This kind of cut is very short, and the hair is straight. It is cut around the neckline. This kind of hairstyle is very easy to maintain owing to the short length of the hair. There are several type of Bob Cuts.

All about Salwar Kameez Styles

Behind the sari, salwar kameez is the next most popular item of clothing worn by indian women. It consists of 3 key elements - kameez (top), salwar ( bottoms), and a dupatta (scarf like garment). This article provides a brief insight into the many different versions of salwar kameez that exist. While I cover many of the most commonly worn types, there are many versions that inevitably will be left out. Every area, region, religion, and eithnic group will render its own version of the salwar kameez based on how they like it to be. Please let me know if you are aware of variation that I have left out. I would love to know about it.

ANAARKALI salwar kameez

ANAARKALI - The anarkali refers to the kameez (top). The bottoms are usually churidaars (discussed in susequent sections..).
In this outfit, the top is tight from the upper body till the waist at which point it blossoms out like an open umbrella. These types of dresses were worn by dancers in Mughal India. Legend has it that Anarkali was the name of a slave girl in Emperor Akbars court who fell in love with his son. Currently there exist many different renditions of this very pretty outfit.

Different Types of Fabrics Continued... (Synthetics)

In the first segment of this article, we covered basic fabrics that have been derived from natural sources like plants and animals. In this second part we continue our classification of fabrics, however now we focus on man made fibres. For our purposes, I keep the scope limited to fabrics that are commonly used in India for traditional outfits. If I have missed something, please let me know. I will gladly add any suggestions.

BROCADE
Brocade is usually a silk and it typically has some kind of floral pattern on it. In India, there are many stores that sell brocade silk saris. Also, beautiful salwar kameez combos can be made using this fabric. It has a rich and luxurious look not only when its stitched into a garment, but also when its just a piece of fabric.

Different Fabrics of Our Lives - SEGMENT 1

Natural Fabrics consist of those types that can be obtained from sources that occur naturally (so to speak). These include cotton ( from the cotton plant), wool ( from sheep), silk (from silkworms), and linen (from the flax plant). Besides these 4 natural fibers, a whole host of synthetic fabrics have also been created in the lab. Synthetic fibres include those like polyester, rayon, nylon etc.
Cotton Plant
Cotton comes from the cotton plant, and is spun into a yarn. It is used to make denim for jeans, terrycloth for towels, and bedsheets as well. Most of the underwear, tshirts and socks are made of cotton. It is a breatheable light fabric that is very soft and light to wear. It is comfortable and is also used as a blend in other synthetic fibres.

Sonam Kapoor - Le Diva De La Mode

Sonam Kapoor has blossomed into a beautiful and sociable young lady who is an avante garde fashion diva of Bollywood. Not only does she constantly grace the covers of the most noted fashion magazines, she is also seen frequenting numerous events, parties, and inaugurations. Although she has yet to make her mark in acting, her international style is definitely something to talk about. Sonam is unique from all other Bollywood damsels in that her outfits are reminiscent of something that Kate Middleton, Michelle Obama or Jackie Kennedy might wear. Her outfits are bold, clean, structured, but most of all they are laced with the acknowledgment that they are adorned on a lady with much style intellect.

Sonam went to the premiere of "The Artist" during Cannes 2011 wearing a Jean Paul Gartier white gown from his couture Spring 2009 collection. It is geometrical patterned dress with an organic mesh overlay that creates a lot of visual interest. The color white looks very good on Sonam and she uses this to her advantage. She is pairing the dress with Chopard earrings, Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and an Amrapali ring.

Summer 2012 India Fashion Trends

1) Asymmetrical Lengths- This year the runways and fashion magazines have been filled with dresses and skirts that are of different length from front to back. These are often called Hi-Lo dresses/skirts. These are a lovely departure from the usual skirts and dresses that we have been seeing from the many seasons. So if you are bold enough to wear something interesting then this is surely for you.
2) Jumpsuits and Rompers- Fashion Divas like Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have been seen at events wearing rompers. Although somewhat masculine, these are comfortable pieces that still somehow manage to look chic. However, there is a right body type for this and not everyone will be able to pull this off. So chose wisely based on your body...

How to do to Threading - A Step-By-Step Guide

Threading is a technique of removing hair that utilizes a single piece of cotton thread. The thread is tied together at the ends to create an oval shape, and the middle part is twisted multiple times to create a trapping device with which to catch each hair. The thread is run across the hair, and loop is then used to capture hair one by one. As each hair strand is caught in the loop, the thread is quickly pulled, and this extracts the hair from the follicle level.
Eyebrows Threading
In comparison to shaving, this technique is more effective as it pulls hair from the root, allowing it a longer time to grow back. Therefore, a person has to thread less frequently. Waxing also removes hair from the root, however it pulls out sections or hair patches whereas threading only pulls out single hair.

Male Eyebrows Shaping Styles

Brad Pitt Eyebrows
Perhaps you want them angled like Shah Rukh Khan ( for more expression), or maybe you like yours to be more arched. Or you want them manly and flat shaped like Imran Khan.  Or maybe you just want them slightly curved like Anil Kapoor has his.

It could be that none of these eyebrow styles appeal to your fancy, and you want to go more international - David Beckham, Brad Pitt, or Russel Brand even.  From a time when male make up was left only up to stage and film actors to the current era , Men's grooming has come a long way.

Shahrukh Khan Eyebrows
As words like metro sexual become a part of our daily vernacular, and men are seen wearing pastels and pinks just like women, male grooming has evolved into a serious matter, and a booming business.  Salons catering specifically to male grooming interests are starting to pop up all around the globe.
