Blazers for Women - Summer 2012

A Blazer functions as an instant dress-me-up piece. You could be wearing something very causal and plain, yet once you introduce a blazer to your ensemble, your outfit will be transformed into something formal and presentable. For example - even if you are wearing a plain white Tshirt with some casual wash jeans, when you add say a black blazer it will pull your look together. Blazers help to create a more structured and streamlined look and also help enhance the overall look of anything that you may be wearing. Don't think that you can only wear blazers in the summer. This is a navy,blue lace blazer - in line with the current lace trend for this year. It has a single button and has a wide, long collar. It can be worn with many things - a skirt, jeans, formal pants, white jeans, or shorts. You decide....

 black base white polka dotted blazer

Featured here is a black base white polka dotted blazer. It is cropped to give it more of a jacket feel, yet it still carries the collars of a blazer. This piece is very elegant for evening wear. Paired correctly like maybe with a pearl necklace , this blazer has the potential to give a very polished and feminine look.

Blazer with color blocking

This outfit is an excellent example of color blocking. Because the other colors in the outfit are also bright, the pink blazer does not seem overbearing. This is a Boyfriend Blazer. It is named as such for its masculine look - long and loose ( like you decided to wear your boyfriends blazer). This particular one is in a neutral color, and it still retains it cool and chic feel. There is one button and the sleeves are cuffed. It is paired very nicely with a coral color pallette. The blue clutch adds a pop of vibrant color.

This cotton blazer takes it inspiration from classic mens suits. It has been cropped to give it a more feminine and modern look. This type of blazer looks good in any color, but this cream is very ladylike and elegant. It has one button closure and a black trim to give it some visual interest and contrast. I could not end this post without mentioning a classic black blazer. Considering the heat of the summers in India, a black blazer will not really be suitable for day time. However, it will be fine for an evening out. Provided its a little loose fitted, and you pair it nicely a classic black blazer is always a safe bet. But if you are a little on the creative side - you can have lots of fun with this.
