How to do to Threading - A Step-By-Step Guide

Threading is a technique of removing hair that utilizes a single piece of cotton thread. The thread is tied together at the ends to create an oval shape, and the middle part is twisted multiple times to create a trapping device with which to catch each hair. The thread is run across the hair, and loop is then used to capture hair one by one. As each hair strand is caught in the loop, the thread is quickly pulled, and this extracts the hair from the follicle level.
Eyebrows Threading
In comparison to shaving, this technique is more effective as it pulls hair from the root, allowing it a longer time to grow back. Therefore, a person has to thread less frequently. Waxing also removes hair from the root, however it pulls out sections or hair patches whereas threading only pulls out single hair.

Threading requires some getting used to since it is quite painful to take out hair one by one. Gradually, the body adjusts to this and becomes less painful to get threading done.
Self Eyebrow threading
Some people advise taking a pain relieving pill before getting threading done if ones threshold for pain is low. It is difficult to do threading on yourself since it requires precision to hold the thread and move it effectively. So - Practice! Practice! Practice!

  1. Take a piece of thread and cut off about 14 inches. This should be enough, however if you feel if you need more, you can cut off a longer piece. (any thread will do)
  2. eyebrows threading shape
  3. Tie the ends together to create a loop in which you can place your hands. THis tells you if its big enough for the mobility of your hands during the process.
  4. Holding the thread with both hands, start twisting so as to create a column of twisted thread in the center.

  6.  Practice moving the thread in free air so as to get a hang of the procedure.
  7. Move the thread on to the hair that is to be removed and make sure that the hair gets caught in the twisted column in the middle.
  8.  Glide the loop from one hand to the other hand, and this movement of the twisted thread will pull the hair out of the follicle.
  9. Keep repeating this until all the unwanted hair is removed.
